The way we consume content whether it is surfing the web, watching television, renting or downloading movies, or listening to music has become a highly personalized experience. This should be no different when it comes to consuming mobile content.
Our mobile device is already highly personalized. We download wallpapers, ringtones, and we even buy different color exteriors for our phones. We use it for alarms, games, texting. The mobile device has become the most personal device we own. This is why the only way mobile content will be successful is if we can personalize what we want and when we want it. Although, we do currently personalize some basic features on our phone, we still do not have the ability to personalize the content we want to view and share.
Consumers already have a hard time wading through all the User Generated Content online to find their favorite stuff, come alone having to this though the mobile device. Our mobile device is not ideal for searching and browsing the web. There are too many solutions out there focused not on consumer’s “on-the-go” lifestyle but on technology and extending the web As-Is to mobile. Having the ability to personalize and set preferences for mobile content and providing mobile relevant content communication is going to change the way you use your mobile device. Even more important, will be the use of an application that makes these activities possible in a way that complements your fast paced digital lifestyle.
